About Me

My art and what it means to me.....

My name is Sarah Williamson, and I am a contemporary photographic artist who draws inspiration and solace from the serene coastal landscape.

Through my abstract seascape art, I aim to share the emotional beauty, vibrant colours, and breathtaking scenery of the mostly Scottish coastal landscape with you.

My limited edition prints strive to capture the tranquillity and awe of the British coastline in a unique impressionist style which i capture by blending abstract ICM photography, mood-enhancing colours and dreamy textures printed onto watercolour style fine art paper to create a contemporary painterly art style that reflects my own unique vision of a scene and the natural beauty of the sea.

People often ask if my art is a painting or a photograph, and I always say it's whatever your imagination wants it to be.

For me its about sharing a personal vision of a scene, an interpretation guided by what I feel rather than a classic portrayal.

Nature-inspired art that brings a sense of peace and rejuvenation into your home is also important to me. Whether capturing a special moment or inviting you to slow down, breathe, and connect with nature, my artwork is designed to offer moments of calm and serenity.

About Me....

I was born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire. I studied Art & Design and specialised in textile design. Inspired by the heritage of the Lancashire textile industry, I spent over 35 years working in design and brand management for Dorma, a leading homeware brand.

Photography, design and creativety have been part of my whole life and i feel so lucky that i can now dedicate more of my time to pursuing my photographic art by traveling to remote destinations, mostly in Scotland, to capture its beauty.

I love movement, colour and texture and i find inspiration in the impressionist style and many contemporary artists and photographers.

I now live by the sea on the Lancashire coast with my husband Mike, cocker spaniel Flora and house rabbit Isla.
